This is a homodimer of ODCase, bound with its substrate OMP. The structure was determined by X-ray crystallography. If you zoom in, you can see the four critical amino acids at the active site (lysine in blue and aspartic acid in red).

Rotate the complete structure around the X-axis.

Rotate the complete structure around the Y-axis.

Zoom in and look at the active site with substrate bound. The active site is shadded green with the electron clouds forming a solid surface in apprearance.

Look at a crossection of the binding site. Notice the CO2 that will be removed by this carboxylase is shown with its full electron cloud.

If you want to change the view, hold down the control key and move the mouse.
To reset the view without the green electron cloud, you need to hit reload on your browser.
