Strongylocentrotus purpuratus Genes in Development

UHF-1

Function

UHF-1 codes for positively acting transcription factor which is required for high levels of expression of both EH4 and LH4 genes.
UHF-1 binds more strongly to the EH4 site. In vivo assays demonstrated that UHF-1 site is required for maximal EH4 expression, but not for appropriate temporal regulation (Lee et al., 1991).

Protein

UHF-1 is a protein of 85 kDa.
