Chris and Amy's trip to Scotland: June 28th - July 11th, 2003: Isle of Mull and Iona (click on pictures to view large version)

Aboard the ferry, leaving Oban for Isle of Mull.

A castle and the the Oban skyline.

Amy loved taking pictures from the ferry.

A beautiful place to live...

Great shot of castle from the ferry.

Looking out over the ocean.

The lighthouse between Oban and Mull.

Once on Isle of Mull, we took a bus to the other side of the island, where we stayed in the small town of Fionnphort.

Looking across the bay to Iona, our reason for coming to Fionnphort.

Amy, on the beach at Fionnphort.

Sand and rocks.

Rocks shaped by the power of water and waves.

The Abbey at Iona can be seen from Fionnphort - looks like they're doing some construction...

The town of Fionnphort from the hill above the town.

The nunnery on Iona.

Another view of the nunnery.

Chris emerging from the nunnery...

Cross standing along the way from the nunnery to the abbey.

Flower garden on Iona.

Closeup of flowers

House on Iona.

The same house with it's background setting.

St. Martin's Cross, Iona Abbey. This cross is centuries old.

St. John's Cross (actually a concrete replica) at the Abbey.

Flowers in someone's backyard on Iona.

Snail on the plants.

Are these cows really on that roof? Or is it an optical illusion? Part of the magic of Iona.

Beach on far side of Iona. If you look hard enough out across the ocean, you can almost see Ireland.

Another beach shot, looking out over water between Iona and Mull, with the fishers small boats tied up - they've taken the small boats out to their fishing boats and are now out fishing.
