Lauran's Hobbies and Interests
I play polo and follow the goings on of the different clubs and national organizations throughout the season.  Polo is a game played on horseback using a special breed of horses specifically bred for speed as well as endurance called polo ponies.  The polo field is the largest field used in sports and the normal game consists of four to six chukkas (15 minute segments of play).

Besides polo, I also compete, when I can, in regional and national hunter/jumper, equitation, and 3-day events and shows.  I did this a lot more in high school, but I still enjoy showing when I can over vacations, holidays, or weekends.  In high school I had up to six horses in my "string," but now I only actually own two and am not at the moment riding for another owner.  My two horses, Faraday and Aldous, both live in Florida where they are being leased out to people who show them throughout the season.  Aldous is an Irish Thoroughbred and Faraday is an Hanovarian.
