Ty and the Father of Genetics

Ty Plowshay '05

In June 2003, Ty traveled to the Czech Republic where he visited Mendel's monastery in the town of Brno.

His project in the lab:
Creating deficiency strains for fine mapping of the mitoshell gene, which functions in mitochondrial aggregation during Drosophila spermatogenesis
