• Learn the processes of transcription and translation.
• Understand the consequences on proteins for given DNA mutations.

Learning Outcomes - Students will:

• understand the key steps in the production of mRNA
• describe the main points in protein production
• summarize the consumption of energy in transcription and translation
• explain the cause of sickle cell disease
• use existing clinical information to explain the role of Cl^- inons in CF
