The possibilities with GIS certainly do not stop with what I have been able to accomplish with this project. Using ArcView, homeranges of animals can be modeled and the best routes for hiking or horse trails can be calculated. If there were ever more construction on this study area, affects on the streams could be predicted by determining where drainage from the construction area would be present and be the most intense. If land use were changing, GIS could help predict the effects of those changes as well as how they would affect wildlife. GIS is a powerful tool in the field of forestry management and conservation biology as well as a variety of other fields.
