ArcView was an essential tool in this project. I was able to illustrate the Davidson street network, and plan for new street connections. The map above shows, with less detail, some of the new connections I plotted on other pages of this site. These are the connections that I think will best serve Davidson's transportation needs. However, as the individual site pages have pointed out, many of these new connections transverse properties that are privately owned. At the same time, however, complaints regarding pedestrian safety on Main Street continue to increase. These street connections could help displace Main Street traffic by moving it to these secondary roads.
