Mammalian digestion can be separated into two distinct categories: ruminants and nonruminants.
Before starting on this project I found myself very curious as to how an animal can be classified as one
or the other and what goes into that process. In order to explore it first hand I decided to look very
closely at one animal in particular, the elephant. My goal in creating this website is to share what I've
learned about elephants, ruminants, and nonruminants.
