On Saturday, April 12th Davidson College is hosting Reptile Day from 10 am to 1 pm! We’ll have live specimens of many local amphibians and reptiles for visitors to admire or touch. Some crowd favorites last year included the spiny softshell turtle with its noodle-like nose, the brightly colored spotted salamander and the six-foot-long black rat snake. Another highlight of the day will be Mike Dorcas’s venomous snake talks. In addition, there will be booths from local and state conservation organizations. Don’t miss out on the fun; last year this event drew around 800 visitors. The event is appropriate for kids and adult enthusiasts alike. The event will be held on Davidson college campus.
Presented by the Davidson College Herpetology Laboratory,
in coordination with the Central Carolina Amphibian and Reptile Initiative,
the North Carolina Wildlife Federation and the Mecklenburg County Division
