Voice: Reminiscent of starting a car - series of blurred "heck" notes. Habitat: Typically found near temporary water in lowland dry, moist, and wet forests. Biology: Nocturnal; arboreal; found in lower levels of forest; has been known to use burrows and fallen logs as dry season refuge; have been known to create an antidessication cocoon; ; explosive breeder after the first rains; has much intraspecific variation in coloration, size, and proportions.
