Biology Experience:

Davidson Herpetology Laboratory                         Spring 2003 – Present

    Volunteered weekly by checking all pitfall traps in the Davidson College Ecological Preserve and recording and identifying all animals caught, assisting in laboratory procedures such as measuring snakes and turtles, and attended weekly lab meetings.

  Employed in Spring 2004.  Ten hours per week spent organizing the drift fence and box turtle conservation programs, managing the lab’s websites, scheduling, turtle trapping,

running the drift fence, and performing other duties in the lab.

BioSociety                                                                 Fall 2002-Present

  Held the position of co-social chair in the Davidson College BioSociety in spring 2003, which involved organizing and running a printer cartridge recycling program at Davidson

College with co- social chair as a fundraiser, and helping to organize the Darwin Birthday Party.

  Attended meetings and special events.

        Davidson College Animal Facility                              Spring 2002-Spring 2003

Weekly volunteer hours involved care and maintenance of mouse, gerbil, snake, and frog colonies used in research by Davidson College Biology Professors, and daily cleaning

rooms to ensure the health of the animals.

Music Experience:

Voice Lessons                                                              Fall 2002-Present    

  Took private, half-hour voice lessons from Diane Thornton, attended several of the weekly master classes and workshops, and preformed solos and a trio in the biannual voice recitals.

Davidson College Concert Choir                               Fall 2001 – Present

Attended rehearsals two times a week and extra rehearsals on selected weekends, performed in all concerts in Fall 2001 through Spring 2003, and preformed during the annual winter choir tour in January 2002 and 2003.

Cared for the basic needs of the boarders on weekends and holidays.  Provided food and water and cleaned all runs and pens.  Also supervised playtimes and took the dogs on walks in the afternoon.
