The bonobos do not have many predators. The only threats, other than humans, are leopards and other cats that will eat the young. Humans, however, are the most common predator to the bonobos. This is due to poaching, hunting (for bushmeat), and deforestation. Because of the excessive impact of the humans on the bonobos, they are sadly endangered. There are only approximately 5,000 to 20,000 bonobos alive today (Aquarium, 2003). Please do whatever you can to help preserve these wonderful creatures. .
