Introduction
This website will discuss the socioecology and behavior of the Kangaroo rat (dipodomys). The information on this website has been complied from many different sources and studies involving the kangaroo rat. While there are many species of kangaroo rats, this webpage will focus on two species, the Merriam Kangaroo Rat ( dipodomys merriami) and the Banner-tail kangaroo rat ( diopodomys specatabilis). While these two species are alike in many ways, their differences and the sources for these differences make them interesting to compare.
