Introduction

The House Wren (Troglodytes aedon) is a small, sexually monomorphic, insectivorous, secondary cavity-nesting songbird that is migratory and diurnal (Alworth, 1996). Meaning, males and females look identical, they feed primarily on insects, they nest in pre-existing cavities, they migrate annually and they are active during daylight.

This website explores the social system of the House Wren, focusing on social spacing and social relationships.
