Key Points

Description: usually seen grey-brown colored with pale bellies or as black/ginger or white

Size: 1200-2250 grams or about 3-5 pounds with males being slightly larger than females

Food: grasses, clovers, herbs, mainly herbivore

Predators: carnivores in the scrubland

Habitat: burrows with defendable territories during breeding season and overlapping home ranges

Mating System: monogamy in small groups and polygyny in larger groups
