he Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep is a polygynous ungulate found in mountainous regions from Alberta, Canada to northern New Mexico, USA. They inhabitat rough areas and consume most available vegetation. Bighorn sheepare highly gregarious mammals that spend most of their time in herds ranging from eight to over 100 individuals. Males and females segregat into seperate herds becuase of significant sexual dimorphism that results in differing optimal foraging strategies. Males establish dominance through earth-shattering head to head battle during the rutting season.
