The HHMI Summer Research Program in the Biomedical Sciences will support eight HHMI Summer Research Fellows per year. Each Fellow will receive a competitive stipend for 10 weeks of research, an on-campus housing allowance, and financial assistance to travel to scientific meetings. Each faculty mentor will receive funding for research supplies.

Dr. Barbara Lom will administer the summer research program. Each winter an announcement listing faculty mentors and descriptions of research opportunities will be distributed to potential student applicants. Criteria for selection include the student’s academic qualifications, references, and interest in the field of study.

The HHMI Summer Research Program will include weekly meetings with presentations by mentors and Research Fellows. A Poster Symposium will be held each fall semester for students to share their research results with the Davidson Community.
