Improving lives... Hope for the future… Saving the environment! Why are research animals so important? Without animals in research, doctors could not effectively treat their patients. The products we use every day, like lotion, toothpaste and soap, would not be safe. Scientists would not understand what destroys the environment or know what causes animals to become extinct. Most of the discoveries we have made about how living systems work are possible because of the animals used in research. Scientists learn a great deal from animals that they could never discover from any other source.

Animals help us:
-Understand how the body works
-Find cures and treatments for diseases
-Test new drugs and products for safety
-Discover ways to protect habitat and endangered animals
-Develop treatments for pets and farm animals
