PROOFS: Cultured mesomere tiers failed to form stomadeum or ciliated band, while addition of macromeres yields normal oral morphology with a polarized pattern of Ecto V expression
SPECIES: Lytechinus pictus, Strongylocentrotus purpuratus
COMMENTS: One micromere contacts with one or two of veg2 blastomeres, thus they must communicate with one another
