Comparative Genomics

1) Go to the TIGR CMR (Comprehensive Microbial Resource) web site, then choose “Align Whole Genomes”.

2) Choose from the two pull down menus Haemophilus influenzae 86 028NP and Mycoplasm genitalium G-37 with a minimum alignment of 20 nt. Do these two genomes look like they evolved from a common ancestor in the recent past?

3) You can increase the sensitivity by changing the minimum alignment to 15 nt to see if this help you.
