Below is a checklist that will assist you in completing the School for Field Studies application process at Davidson College.

All forms are in pdf (Adobe Acrobat format). If you need Adobe Acrobat, go here.

1. Talk to Dr. Dorcas about SFS (Watson 290, email)
2. Thoroughly read "About SFS at Davidson" on this website.
3. Apply to School for Field Studies (information and application form available here)
4. You will need to get Dr. Dorcas to sign and complete part of the "Participation Approval Form" which is part of the SFS application).

If you are accepted by the School for Field Studies, you must do the following as soon as possible and before you leave for SFS:

1. Complete the Davidson College Off-Campus Study Terms and Conditions Form (available here). This form must be notorized, which can be done in the Dean of Students office and then returned to Dr. Dorcas (Watson 290).
2. If you are attending during the fall or spring semester, you must complete the Davidson College "On-Leave Form" online (click here) - email Dr. Dorcas to notify him when this is complete. Note - you do not have to do this for summer programs.
   Note: the deadlines and penalties on this form (Nov 1 and March 15) do not necessarily apply to SFS student applications because you cannot fill out this form before you are accepted by SFS. However, in most situations, SFS students should have their applications in well before these deadlines.
